Kofler, no stranger to RTR Projects, is excited to rejoin the team he has supported in the past. \u201cIt\u2019s great to return to one of KTM\u2019s traditional customers. This team does excellent work, as shown last year when they became amateur champions in the Fanatec GT2 European Series. They know how to extract the maximum from KTM cars, and I\u2019m thrilled to race with them again,\u201d said the 39-year-old driver. <\/p>\n\n
Kofler will share driving duties with team owner Tom\u00e1\u0161 Miniberger. They\u2019ll tackle Saturday\u2019s hour-long endurance race together, while Kofler takes part in the Saturday sprint, leaving Miniberger to aim for a strong result in Sunday\u2019s sprint. <\/p>\n\n
Slovakia Ring is a 5,922-meter circuit with 14 turns, three crests, and a mix of long straights, high-speed sections, and technical areas. Its 12-meter width provides plenty of overtaking opportunities. Kofler anticipates that the KTM X-Bow GT2 will suit the track well. <\/p>\n\n
\u201cThis will be great fun, and I believe we could challenge some GT3 cars,\u201d Kofler said, though he acknowledged the track\u2019s demanding nature. \u201cPiecing together a fast lap while maintaining consistency is a big challenge here. If you don\u2019t get one corner right, it affects several others, and it takes time to get back on line. Precision and a well-set-up car are essential.\u201d <\/p>\n\n
This will be the second competitive outing for the new KTM X-Bow GT2, which debuted in May at the Zeknova Carbonia Cup, also held at Slovakia Ring. The team plans to enter select Fanatec GT2 European Series events with the car this season, aiming for a two-car presence in the championship. <\/p>\n\n
RTR Projects has fielded one GT2 car in the series since last year, with Jan Krabec securing the AM title in 2022. This year, Krabec is competing in the Pro-Am class, sharing the car with professional drivers. He had a successful opening round in Le Castellet with Ma\u0165o Homola, claiming third and first places overall, but faced technical issues with Erik Jani\u0161 in Misano, resulting in two retirements. <\/p>\n\n
At Slovakia Ring, RTR Projects will face competition from two KTM X-Bow GTX cars. ORLEN Jan\u00edk Motorsport\u2019s entry will feature Petr Koukola in the sprint and team boss V\u00e1clav Jan\u00edk in endurance. Slovakia\u2019s Carin Racing will also field a GTX for Viktor Mr\u00e1z and Ma\u0165o Homola. Additionally, Hungarian driver G\u00e1bor Tim will compete in a Lotus Exige, taking part only in the sprints. <\/p>\n\n
